Lady of My Life
04:49
|
|||
I'm not sure if I could go on
The way things are if you were gone
There is no one else that I want to love
I've looked before and I've never seen one
Lady of my life, you set my soul a-flyin.
We're winning through the fight and we can climb high
Why do you do this? It hurts us both so.
I'm not giving up, I hope you know
I don't know what's wrong. What did I do?
I only know one thing baby, I love you
Lady of my life, you set my soul a-flyin.
We're winning through the fight and we can climb high
I can't believe that you would have wanted it this way
I don't believe you'd turn your back on me and then just walk away
For every day is something special that I want to spend
With you and only you because our love should never, ever end
Lady of my life, you set my soul a-flyin.
We're winning through the fight and we can climb high
Lady of my life, you set my soul a-flyin.
We're winning through the fight and we can climb high

Two Lane Blacktop
05:06
|
|||
When I was a little kid the trees were tall and green
You could even drink the water from the local stream
There was a two lane blacktop running through my town
(I'd) sit on a stump beside it and look it up and down
I asked where it was going. I swore one day to see
My dad told me it don't go nowhere you want to be
I set my feet upon it when I turned eighteen
I set my feet upon it to see what might be seen
It winds around in circles. It spins you all around.
It takes you to the cities. It takes you to the towns.
It took me to the southland, through the Georgia swamps
'cross Alligator Alley to Florida's white sand
Next time it spun me up to the coast of Maine
Down to West Virginia and back home again
But I didn't stay there long and I was off again
There's Texas and New Mexico where I'd never been
Chicago, Green River and on to Cheyenne
Then on through Sacramento and to the Frisco Bay
Up the coast to Portland, back south to L.A.
With stops in Bakersfield and Fresno on the way
Yes that road can take me anywhere I want to go
Except back to where I started so long ago
There was a two lane blacktop running through my town
Sit on a stump beside it and look it up and down

Fukushima Wind
04:01
|
|||
Fukushima wind. There's no danger.
No worries, no need to care
Fukushima wind. Breathe deep, the fresh Pacific air
This is not the end. If you can't see it,
Well, is it really even there?
Fukushima wind. Aah ohh, ahh ohh----
After Chernobyl the scientists said
There's a bit of it in every one of us
That was one reactor for a season
Fukushima's three reactors for God knows how many months
After Chernobyl the scientists said
There's a bit of it in every one of us
That was one reactor for a season
Fukushima's three reactors for God knows how many months
Fukushima wind. There's no danger.
No worries, no need to care
Fukushima wind. Breathe deep, the fresh Pacific air
This is not the end. If you can't see it,
Well, is it really even there?

Wonder Where
05:48
|
|||
Wonder where, the days have gone
When men were men, yet women were strong
Wonder where the love so true
Your space goes out around both of you
Well it may not seem to matter anymore
But there's a world out there you won't find in a store
Wonder where the friends have gone
All drivin' their hybrids into a risin' sun
Wonder where the life so real
No checkin' Facebook for how to feel
Well it may not seem to matter anymore
But there's a world out there you won't find in a store
Wonder where the green has gone
With life in the breeze singing its song
Wonder where the sky's so blue
Clouds reach out and talk to you
Well it may not seem to matter anymore
But there's a world out there you won't find in a store
Wonder where...

Cold and Alone
03:58
|
|||
Cold and alone you found me
But then you found a way
To show me things that make life worthwhile
Here and all around me
The sunshine and the moonlight
The chirping of little birds
The spouting of whales, the surf on the shore
Life begins to feel right
Everyone can feel alone
Now that you've found me
I feel at home
Life is very precious
We should treasure the time we have
And find a way of sharing our joy
With all those around us
It's easy to see how
With things that are beyond control
You could lose your way, forgetting sometimes
You are not alone now
Everyone can feel alone
Now that I've found you
You are at home
Everyone can feel alone
Now that I've found you
We are at home
Cold and alone you found me
But then you found a way
To show me things that make life worthwhile
Here and all around me
Cold and alone you found me
Cold and alone you found me
Cold and alone you found me

Evening in Cheyenne
03:24
|
|||
Sittin' in this bar room
Watchin' the storm outside
Wonderin' if there's a southbound freight
On which I could catch a ride
Caught a train in Reno
It dumped me in Cheyenne
Now it's gettin' damn near closin' time
I'm gettin' mighty high
Wish that I was somewhere
South like San Antone
Where the blizzard isn't blowin'
And I'm not so alone
I remember those southern mornings
Warm sun on our skins
Wanna be back in that south land
Holding you again

Shatterin' Glass
03:37
|
|||
Santa Ana winds hit a hundred-and-fifty
War for oil didn't prove too thrifty
22-degree mornin' -- next day it's 81
Fossil fuels and nukes have cooked us till we're done
Efforts at change can be reduced to tokens
In the political world, everything seems broken
When wind chimes sound like shatterin' glass
You know global warming has come to pass
Antarctic ice melts and coastal plains flood
Some are buried in water. Some can't even make mud
We cast a blind eye toward the ones who get hurt
If we can't make it better, let's not make it worse
Efforts at change can be reduced to tokens
In the political world, everything seems broken
Climate-change deniers. faces turnin. purple
New shipping lanes melt through the Arctic Circle
TV blonde promises 50 years of gas jobs
No mention of renewables; isn't that odd?
It's oil, gas and clashin' atoms all the way
We all come out losers when it's pay to play
Efforts at change can be reduced to tokens
In the political world, everything seems broken
With blossoms in full bloom by Groundhog Day
You know global warming is here to stay

The Rhythm of Life
03:51
|
|||
He's walkin' to the place where he goes every day
Walkin' with his lunch in his hand
Goin' to the place where he's earnin' his pay
It's part of his being a man
He's walkin' to the rhythm
Walkin' to the rhythm of life
She gets up in the mornin' before the sun
'Cause she has a lot she wants to do
She starts the coffee, takes a shower, fixes her lunch
All while planning her whole day thru
She's walkin' to the rhythm
Walkin' to the rhythm of life
Walkin' to the rhythm
Walkin' to the rhythm of life
Walkin' to the rhythm of life
In this world are many things we can do
Some bring us darkness, some bring us light
But if we're workin' toward the greater good
Then, we're walkin' to the rhythm
Talkin' to the rhythm
Rockin' to the rhythm of life
We're goin' to the grocery. We're goin' to school
Goin' to the job most everyday
We're doin' all the things that we need to do
'Cause it works out better that way
We're walkin' to the rhythm
Walkin' to the rhythm of life
Walkin' to the rhythm
Walkin' to the rhythm of life
Walkin' to the rhythm of life
In this world are many things we can do
Some bring us darkness, some bring us light
But if we're workin' toward the greater good
Then, we're walkin' to the rhythm
Talkin' to the rhythm
Rockin' to the rhythm of life

Boston Tea Party
03:38
|
|||
Boston patriots went on a spree
Dressin' up like Injuns and then dumpin' some tea
Looking for self-government for you and for me
A first step in making us free
To live the American dream
Now big corporations roll into town
Buying up small businesses or shutting them down
Funding politicians so they don't make a sound
Take a good look around
American dream can't be found
Listen people, I'll tell you the score
The rich get more and the rest get poor
When folks start wondering “What about me?”
It's time to dump some tea!
It's time to dump some tea!
The Tea Party movement isn't the same
Stooges there are angry they want someone to blame
The greedy co-opt them, it's a part of their game
To see what they can control
They put us deep in the hole
Listen people, I'll tell you the score
The rich get more and the rest get poor
When folks start wondering “What about me?”
It's time to dump some tea!
It's time to dump some tea!

Wheel in the Ditch
03:28
|
|||
Cruisin' down the highway
Not all that long ago
The peaceful, workin’ good life
Was the only way to go
But we got a wheel in the ditch
Gotta get it back up on the road
And bring it home again
Sticky thumbs on the scale
Bunch a lyin', cheatin' toads
And they won't relent
A creakin' snake oil wagon
Came sneakin' into town
Made progress a dirty word
Eased the rich man's burden down
Waged war based on pure lies
And filthy no-bid pacts
It's a dark and bluesy song
Lost in space from all contact
We got a wheel in the ditch
Gotta get it back up on the road
And bring it home again
Fixers thumbs on the scale
Bunch a lyin', cheatin' toads
And they won't relent
Slick Willie, 23 million jobs slick
Uncle Sam’s red ink fadin’ fast
We ended ritzy tax bribes
Our retirements seemed built to last
But our wagon it swerved rightward
Crazy foxes in delusion
Bought up D.C., started two wars
Brought us death, debt and collusion
Got a wheel in the ditch
Gotta get it back up on the road
And bring it home again
Crooked thumbs on the scale
Bunch a lyin', cheatin' toads
And they won't relent

You came into my land, you were a stranger
We spoke to each other in words we didn't understand
When purpose is in common, words they do not matter
Together we worked to save lives where we can
I look up in the sky, the North Star above me
When you look up tonight, the Southern Cross you'll see
Though oceans and miles may separate us
My friend you'll always be
Comrades in the fight for liberty
You're not gone forever. One day you will return
And some day I hope, your country for to see
I know that in time, together we'll fight again
To make on this planet a place that is free
I look up in the sky, the North Star above me
When you look up tonight, the Southern Cross you'll see
Though oceans and miles may separate us
My friend you'll always be
Comrades in the fight for liberty
I look up in the sky, the North Star above me
When you look up tonight, the Southern Cross you'll see
Though oceans and miles may separate us
My friend you'll always be
Comrades in the fight for liberty
There's Heaven and there's Hell, that others someday may go
But Valhalla will be the home for you and me
The warriors who stand and hold the road to liberty
And keep the bridge open for those who would be free
I look up in the sky, the North Star above me
When you look up tonight, the Southern Cross you'll see
Though oceans and miles may separate us
My friend you'll always be
Comrades in the fight for liberty
I look up in the sky
